Career:

Mr. Mehrer has 5 years of professional experience in the environmental field, supporting the Department of Energy’s Hanford Site.  Field sampling, waste site characterization, mixed/radioactive waste shipping, field geology, along with document preparation describe some of the skills Mr. Mehrer has gained during his professional career.

Mr. Mehrer is currently assigned to the Soil and Groundwater Remediation Project as a Field Technical Representative (FTR), where he functions as the field sampling technical authority on groundwater and waste site characterization projects.  He provides a technical conduit between the project manager/scientist and the field managers to ensure that all sampling activities take place under safe, efficient, and compliant manner. 

Mr. Mehrer also, has extensive experience in field geology, which includes well installation/construction and decommissioning, detailed geological descriptions of borehole cuttings, and aquifer tube installation.  Previously, Mr. Mehrer was a certified Transportation Specialists with Fluor Hanford’s Waste Services group, shipping radioactive and mixed/TRU waste to onsite disposal or storage facilities.
